MEng Civil Engineering
Heriot-Watt University Dubai
Course Overview
The MEng Civil Engineering at Heriot-Watt Dubai is an integrated five-year Master's that takes Sri Lankan A/L Maths students through to a chartered-engineer-ready qualification without a separate undergraduate-then-postgraduate split. Heriot-Watt has been training civil engineers since 1885, and the Dubai programme is delivered by the same School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society that runs the Edinburgh course.
Core areas span structural engineering, geotechnics, hydraulics, transportation, and construction management — with case-study material drawn directly from the UAE's signature projects (Burj Khalifa, Dubai Metro, Etihad Rail). The programme is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM), satisfying the educational base for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE, IStructE, CIHT, and IHE.
