Course Overview
USC Rossier School of Education's MEd in Educational Leadership is one of the highest-ranked education leadership Master's programmes in the United States — Rossier is consistently top 15 globally for Education (QS Subject 2025) and top 10 in the US (US News). The Los Angeles campus hosts the policy-focused tracks while the school also runs the online iteration (MEd in Learning Design and Technology and MAT online), but the on-campus MEd Educational Leadership is the flagship for school administrators and emerging policy leaders. The one-year programme covers organisational leadership in K-12 and higher education, instructional supervision, education finance, social justice and educational equity, and a capstone leadership project — taught in cohort format with practising LAUSD superintendents and California Department of Education leaders as adjunct faculty.

USC Rossier graduates route into K-12 principalship and assistant-principal pipelines (LAUSD, California public schools, charter networks like KIPP and Aspire), into university student affairs / academic affairs administration (US Higher Education sector), and into education policy roles at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Carnegie Corporation, Aspen Institute, RAND Education, and McKinsey Education Practice. Median US starting salary USD 65,000-85,000. Sri Lankan returnees route into Department of Education senior positions (Ministry, NIE), Cambridge Assessment / Edexcel regional offices, school-leadership roles at international schools (Colombo International School, Overseas School of Colombo, Lyceum International, Wycherley International), and into education-tech founder/leadership posts at Tutopia / Skype Sri Lanka education arms.
