Master in Public Health
Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore
Course Overview
Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is Europe's largest Catholic university and hosts the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital — one of Italy's leading clinical and research centres. The Master in Public Health is a one-year, English-taught programme based at the Rome medical campus, designed for clinicians, biomedical scientists, and health-policy professionals aiming at international roles at WHO, UNICEF, FAO, World Bank, IFAD, and large NGOs.
The curriculum covers epidemiology, biostatistics, health systems, infectious-disease control, maternal and child health, global health policy, and health economics. Sri Lankan applicants with MBBS, BSc Nursing, BSc Public Health, BSc Biomedical Sciences, or strong policy backgrounds fit well — Cattolica has a long pipeline of South Asian and African public-health alumni. The programme includes a 4–6 month internship at one of Cattolica's partner institutions (WHO Geneva, the Italian Higher Institute of Health, or hospital-policy units).
