Course Overview

American University in Dubai's Master of International Business is delivered through the School of Business Administration — AACSB-accredited and ranked among the top private business schools in the UAE. The 2-year Master's follows the US semester system (US-credit-bearing programme, validated against AUD's parent institution standards) and covers International Strategic Management, Global Marketing, Cross-Cultural Management, International Finance, International Trade Law, Supply Chain Management, and Middle East Business Environment. Students complete a capstone consulting project and have access to the Dubai-based corporate network — AUD partners with Dubai Holding, Etisalat, Emirates Group, DP World, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) for student placements and case studies.

Sri Lankan applicants choose AUD over Hult Dubai or UAE branches of UK universities because the AED 56,000/year tuition is significantly more affordable (less than 1/3 of Hult), the US credit system gives clear pathway to US PhD programmes or further study, and the AUD location in Dubai Media City provides excellent industry exposure. UAE post-study work is via the 2-year Job Seeker visa on graduation, with conversion to a Green Visa or 10-year Golden Visa for skilled employment. Sri Lankan returnees route into management positions at Emirates Group, DP World (which operates the Hambantota Port and the Colombo South Container Terminal), Dubai Holding, plus senior management positions at JKH, Hayleys, MAS Holdings, Brandix, Dialog Axiata back home, and into the growing Middle East-Sri Lanka trade and logistics corridor.
