Course Overview
The Master of Engineering (Civil) at the University of Sydney is a three-semester accredited program for Sri Lankan engineering graduates who want to deepen specialisation in structural, geotechnical, transport, or environmental engineering. The degree is accredited by Engineers Australia under the Washington Accord — recognised by ICTAD/IESL back in Sri Lanka and by every Commonwealth professional body.
Students choose from advanced electives in earthquake engineering, finite element analysis, bridge design, and infrastructure asset management. The capstone is an industry-linked research thesis or design project, with past partners including Arup, AECOM, Aurecon, and Transport for NSW. Sydney is ranked in the QS Top 25 globally for Civil & Structural Engineering (2025).
