Course Overview
Deakin's Master of Cyber Security is a two-year, ACS-accredited Master's delivered out of Burwood (Melbourne) and online via Deakin Cloud Campus. Specialisations include Analytics, Computing Information Systems, Professional Practice, and Secure Software Development. Year 1 covers cryptography, network security, secure coding, digital forensics and ethical hacking; year 2 includes a major project with industry partners (CSL, Telstra, the Department of Defence's CyberSecurity CRC, or NAB).
Cyber Security Engineer and ICT Security Specialist are on the Australian MLTSSL — meaning Deakin's degree leads directly into the 485 post-study work visa and a clear 482/186/189 PR pathway via ACS Skills Assessment. The course also runs on a flexible 4-trimester cycle, so Sri Lankan students who join in July can finish in 18 months by stacking trimesters. Heavy demand from SL applicants who already hold a Bachelor's in IT, software engineering or maths.
