Course Overview
Monash's Master of Communications and Media Studies is delivered by the School of Media, Film and Journalism — ranked in the global top 50 for Communication and Media Studies in QS World Rankings by Subject. The 1.5-year (or 2-year with extension) programme offers four pathways: Journalism Practice, Public Relations Practice, Communications Strategy, and Digital and Social Media. Students learn industry-standard tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Hootsuite, Meltwater, Google Analytics) and complete a major capstone project — either a media product (documentary, podcast series) or a strategic communications campaign.

Walter Thompson, Newsfirst, Capital Maharaja, plus brand managers at Unilever, Nestle, Dialog, Hayleys — choose Monash for the post-study work + PR optionality. Entry Requirements
Academic
