Master of Strategic Communication
University of Technology Sydney
Course Overview
The University of Technology Sydney's Master of Strategic Communication is delivered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences — UTS is ranked among the world's top universities under 50 years old and consistently strong for communication and media studies. The two-year programme covers public relations, corporate and crisis communication, digital and social-media strategy, campaign planning, audience research, and integrated marketing communications, with applied projects and an industry-engaged capstone. UTS's central Sydney campus puts students at the heart of Australia's media and agency sector.
Sri Lankan applicants from communications, marketing, journalism, arts, and business backgrounds at Colombo, Kelaniya (Mass Communication), Sri Jayewardenepura, and NSBM choose this Master's to specialise in modern, integrated communication practice. An English-medium Bachelor's typically supports an IELTS waiver via an MOI letter. Graduates qualify for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) for post-study work, with placement into PR firms, agencies, and corporate communications. Returnees route into senior corporate-communications, PR, and brand roles at Dialog Axiata, John Keells, Unilever Sri Lanka, MAS Holdings, the leading Colombo PR and digital agencies, and the development-sector communications teams (UN agencies, INGOs).
