BSc (Hons) Computing Science
University of Malta
Course Overview
University of Malta's BSc (Hons) Computing Science is delivered through the Faculty of ICT at Malta's only public university (founded 1592 — one of Europe's oldest). Malta is an English-speaking EU member state, and all university teaching is in English by default. The Msida campus sits 15 minutes from Valletta and the fast-growing iGaming / fintech corridor in St Julian's and Sliema, where Betsson, Tipico, Kindred and LeoVegas all run large engineering operations.
Sri Lankan A-Level / IB applicants from Maths / Physics or ICT streams choose Malta for tuition that is among the lowest in the EU for non-EU students (€10,000-€11,000/yr Bachelor's), English-medium teaching, and a genuine local tech employment route. The 3-year curriculum covers programming (Java, Python, C++), data structures and algorithms, computer architecture, software engineering, databases, computer networks, operating systems, AI, and a substantial Year 3 dissertation. Strong returnees route into engineering posts at WSO2, IFS R&D, Virtusa, MillenniumIT, and Sysco LABS.
