Bachelor of Cyber Security
Edith Cowan University
Course Overview
Edith Cowan University (ECU) is Australia's #1 cyber security research and teaching institution — ranked the country's leading cybersecurity school by Australian Cyber Security Centre and one of only six Australian universities accredited as an Academic Centre of Cyber Security Excellence (ACCSE) by the Australian Signals Directorate. The 3-year Bachelor of Cyber Security covers network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, cloud security, security operations, incident response, secure software engineering and cyber law. Students train in ECU's Security Operations Centre (SOC) and complete a final-year capstone with industry partners like Telstra Cyber Security, ANZ Cyber Defence, Deloitte Cyber, and the Australian Cyber Security Centre.
Sri Lankan applicants — particularly Information Technology / Computer Science streams from leading Colombo schools who want a sharper specialisation than a generic CS degree — choose ECU Cyber Security for the unique ACCSE accreditation, the Perth-based industry pipeline (Western Australia has one of the fastest-growing cyber-security sectors in Australia), the lower cost-of-living than Sydney / Melbourne, and the post-graduation 485 visa + PR pathway. ICT Security Specialist (262112) is on Australia's MLTSSL — direct 189/190 PR routes. Sri Lankan returnees take Senior Security Analyst / CISO posts at WSO2, Dialog Axiata, MAS, Brandix.
