Nanyang Technological University — Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information
Course Overview
NTU's Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) is Asia's #1 ranked communication school and consistently top 20 globally (QS Subject Rankings 2025 — Communication and Media Studies). NTU itself is one of Asia's top 3 universities (QS 2025) and the WKWSCI is the destination communication school for Southeast Asia. The 4-year Honours degree offers specialisations across 5 tracks: Journalism, Public and Promotional Communication, Communication Research, Media Analytics, and Digital and Visual Communication. Students join the live newsroom at The Nanyang Chronicle, the WKWSCI Communications Lab, and an integrated 22-week professional internship in Singapore-based or regional media organisations (Mediacorp, Singapore Press Holdings, Channel News Asia, Reuters, Bloomberg, Edelman, Ogilvy).
Sri Lankan A-Level / IB applicants choose NTU WKWSCI for the combination of academic prestige, low cost (with the Ministry of Education Tuition Grant), and direct pipeline into Singapore's regional media hub. The MOE Tuition Grant subsidises ~70% of tuition for international students who sign a 3-year Singapore work bond after graduation — making the headline international price drop from SGD 41,500 to SGD 28,000/year. Singapore offers a 1-year Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) for post-study job search and the Employment Pass (EP) for graduates earning SGD 5,000+/month.
