Our Batticaloa branch has closed, so Batticaloa, Kattankudy and Eravur students now book a face-to-face consultation at our Rajagiriya head office. It's a long trip — the overnight train makes it manageable — and we help you plan it so one visit covers the essentials.

How we work
We don't have an office in Batticaloa — here's what we do instead
Our nearest office to you is in Rajagiriya (300+ km, ~7–8 hours by train or bus). Every consultation happens face to face — we don't do phone or online consultations — so you book a visit at our Rajagiriya branch. After the visit, day-to-day document follow-ups can happen over WhatsApp or email.
Visit us in Rajagiriya
Book a day and time at our Rajagiriya branch. Your consultation is face to face with a counsellor — parents are welcome to come too. We talk through destinations, courses and your academic profile, and bring your originals (transcripts, NIC, passport) if you have them. Direct Batticaloa–Colombo Fort trains (including an overnight service) via Polonnaruwa, or intercity buses on the A11 / A6 to Colombo; Rajagiriya is a short ride from Fort or Pettah.
Follow-ups after your visit
Once we've agreed a plan in person, day-to-day document follow-ups for your university applications can happen over WhatsApp or email, so you don't need to travel for every small step.
Visa biometric in Colombo
Once your visa file is ready, you visit the VFS centre in Colombo for biometric capture. We book the slot, prepare the file, and walk you through what to bring. Same trip for every student in Sri Lanka — there's no district-level alternative.

Why Batticaloa students choose Lanka Scholar
One visit, planned around the journey
Batticaloa to Rajagiriya is roughly 300+ km — about 7–8 hours by the direct Colombo Fort train or intercity bus. Many families take the overnight train, attend the consultation the next day and travel back. Book your day and time before you set off, and bring original certificates so we can check them in the same sitting.
Tamil-medium counselling on request
Batticaloa is predominantly Tamil-speaking. When you book, ask for a Tamil-fluent counsellor and the whole consultation — including the parent meeting and document walk-through — can run in Tamil. English and Sinhala are also supported.
Eastern Province scholarship awareness
Some UK and Australian universities run scholarships that prioritise applicants from under-represented regions, and external trusts also fund Eastern Province students. We track current openings and check which fit your profile.
