Course Overview
Bocconi's MSc in International Management (MIM) is one of Europe's flagship business Master's — consistently in the FT Global Top-10 for Master's in Management. Two years, taught in English at the Milan campus, with a CEMS double-degree option (in partnership with LSE, HEC, ESADE, Sciences Po, NUS, HKUST) and exchange semesters at Wharton, Kellogg, Booth, INSEAD, and Tsinghua.
The cohort is highly international and selective — recruiters from McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, UniCredit, Intesa Sanpaolo, Generali, Luxottica, and Prada Group are core to the placement engine. Sri Lankan applicants with a strong BBA, BSc Economics, or BSc Management (Moratuwa, Colombo, Peradeniya, SLIIT, NSBM, NIBM) plus a competitive GMAT/GRE are the natural fit. Bocconi's career office is industrial-grade and places ~95% of MIM graduates within 3 months of graduation.
Entry Requirements
Academic
- check_circle Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Management, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline — Sri Lankan SLQF Level 6 with GPA equivalent to 2nd-Upper / first-class.
- check_circle GMAT 650+ or GRE equivalent (programme is selective — top admits average 680–710 GMAT).
- check_circle Strong CV — internships, leadership roles, and quantitative depth are weighed heavily.
- check_circle Motivational essay, video interview, and 2 references (1 academic, 1 professional preferred).
English Proficiency
- check_circle IELTS Academic: 7.0 Overall.
- check_circle TOEFL iBT: 105 Overall.
- check_circle Cambridge C1 Advanced or higher.
- check_circle Waived if your Bachelor's was taught entirely in English at a recognised institution (Sri Lankan English-medium degrees qualify).

Bocconi MIM graduates are eligible for Italy's 12-month post-study residence permit and EU Blue Card. ~95% are placed within 3 months — top destinations are McKinsey, BCG, Bain (Italy, London, Dubai), Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, UniCredit, Intesa Sanpaolo, Mediobanca, Generali, Luxottica, Prada Group, and increasingly Amazon and Google EU. Sri Lankan returnees take strategy and leadership roles at John Keells Holdings, MAS Holdings, Dialog Axiata, HSBC SL, Hatton National Bank, and the Big Four Colombo. Starting Milan salaries: €55k–€75k for top tracks.
