Master of Science in International Hospitality Business
Glion Institute of Higher Education
Course Overview
Glion is ranked #3 globally for Hospitality and Leisure Management (QS by Subject) — just behind EHL and Les Roches — and is the only Swiss hospitality school to offer its full Master's programme in just one calendar year. The MSc in International Hospitality Business is a 1-year cohort programme delivered out of Glion's hillside campus above Montreux on Lake Geneva, with intakes in February and September. The curriculum spans hospitality finance and revenue management, luxury brand management, hospitality real estate, and digital transformation — culminating in an Applied Business Project that students complete with industry partners (recent: Accor, Four Seasons, Bulgari Hotels).
Sri Lankan applicants choose Glion because the Master's accepts Bachelor's degrees from ANY discipline — engineering, business, even arts — which makes it the easiest credible Swiss-hospitality entry point for career switchers. The campus location (45 minutes from Geneva, 90 minutes from Milan) places students within reach of Europe's largest concentration of luxury hotel HQs (Mandarin Oriental, Belmond, Bulgari, Aman). Two paid 6-month internships built into the degree provide the right of residency to complete them in Switzerland.

Swiss post-study work options are tight (6 months to find work, salary above CHF 60,000 to convert to a B permit) — but paid internships through the programme are a credible bridge. Glion MSc grads typically place into Marriott Luxury Brands, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Bulgari Hotels, Belmond, Aman Resorts, and into the hospitality consulting arms of EY-Parthenon Hospitality and HVS Geneva. Sri Lankan returnees route into Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Aitken Spence, Hayleys Travels & Leisure, and Resplendent Ceylon (Tea Trails / Cape Weligama). Median post-Master's salary: CHF 55,000 (LKR 20.3M/yr).
