MSc Informatics
Technical University of Munich
Course Overview
TUM's MSc Informatics is a two-year, English-taught research master based at the Garching campus, ranked #19 globally for Computer Science in the 2026 QS subject rankings. Sri Lankan applicants choose between elective tracks in machine learning, security & privacy, computer vision, robotics and theoretical CS — the curriculum is heavy on research seminars and a six-month thesis, usually co-supervised with a Munich-area employer.
Non-EU tuition is €6,000 per semester (introduced Winter 2024/25). Applicants from Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh must submit a GRE General score alongside the standard application. Munich has the densest tech-employer cluster in Europe — BMW, Siemens, Allianz, Google's Munich office and a growing startup scene around UnternehmerTUM all hire heavily from this program.
