Course Overview
POSTECH's MS in Industrial & Management Engineering (IME) blends operations research, data analytics, and engineering management — the discipline that runs Korea's manufacturing dominance. The department has strong links to POSCO (the steelmaker that founded the university), Samsung, and Hyundai, with research groups in supply chain optimization, manufacturing systems, financial engineering, and human factors.

Entry Requirements
Academic
- check_circle Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related engineering field (GPA 3.5/4.0 equivalent).

- check_circle Strong quantitative background — linear algebra, probability, and at least one programming language.
English Proficiency

- check_circle TOEFL iBT: 79 Overall, or TOEIC: 750.
- check_circle Waived with a Medium of Instruction letter if your degree was taught in English.

IME graduates move into Samsung Electronics, LG, Hyundai, POSCO, and SK — typically in operations, supply chain, data science, or strategy roles. Korean tech firms (Naver, Kakao) recruit IME Master's into analytics teams. The D-10 job-seeker visa gives 6 months post-graduation to secure work, and STEM-track Master's holders convert to E-7 employment visas with chaebol sponsorship.
