Trinity College Dublin
Course Overview
Trinity College Dublin's MPhil in Philosophy is a one-year research-led Master's run by Ireland's top-ranked university (QS top 90) and home to a department with deep strengths in metaphysics, philosophy of mind, ethics, philosophy of religion, and the history of philosophy. Students take taught modules across two terms and complete a substantial dissertation, working closely with faculty in a small-cohort, seminar-driven environment within Trinity's historic 18th-century campus.
Sri Lankan applicants — typically Arts graduates from Colombo, Peradeniya, and Kelaniya, plus reflective professionals from law, education, and the clergy — choose Trinity for: a globally-recognised humanities credential, a one-year completion that keeps costs contained, and Ireland's generous post-study work pathway. The MPhil is an ideal stepping-stone to PhD study and suits students aiming for academia, research, policy, journalism, or law conversion.
