Master of Business
University of Canterbury
Course Overview
The Master of Business (MBus) is UC's 180-point, 17-month taught Master's — open to graduates from any discipline, not just business. The first part covers business fundamentals (accounting, finance, marketing, operations, strategy), then students specialise in a major such as Finance, Marketing, International Business, or Sustainable Business, and finish with an industry project working with a Christchurch firm.
For Sri Lankan engineers, doctors, lawyers, or arts graduates wanting to pivot into business — without the 3–5 years of work experience that MBA programmes demand — the MBus is the most practical route into a recognised NZ Master's. AACSB-accredited and recognised across NZ, Australia and South Asia.
