Master of International Hospitality Management
Auckland University of Technology
Course Overview
Auckland University of Technology (AUT) hosts the New Zealand School of Hospitality and Tourism, internationally ranked for the discipline, and its Master of International Hospitality Management is a postgraduate degree built for those moving into hospitality leadership and research. The programme covers strategic hospitality management, service and experience design, revenue and digital strategy, sustainable and responsible hospitality, and applied research, culminating in a dissertation or industry project. AUT's Auckland location — New Zealand's largest city and tourism gateway — provides strong industry links to hotels, events, and the wider visitor economy.
Sri Lankan applicants with a Bachelor's in Hospitality, Tourism, Business, or a related field (and ideally some industry experience) fit the cohort well, and English-medium Sri Lankan degrees can satisfy the language requirement. With tourism central to Sri Lanka's economy, a New Zealand hospitality master's is highly relevant for returnees aiming at senior management. New Zealand offers eligible master's graduates a post-study work visa of up to three years — among the most generous globally — making AUT a strong route into international hospitality leadership.
