BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying
University of Salford
Course Overview
Salford's BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying is a three-year, RICS-accredited (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) degree run out of the School of Science, Engineering and Environment. The curriculum covers measurement and cost estimation, construction technology, contract law and procurement, BIM (Building Information Modelling), and sustainable construction. The final-year capstone takes a real Greater Manchester development project from initial cost plan to final account.
Sri Lankan applicants are heavily represented in this programme — QS is one of the highest-demand professions in the Middle East and Australia, and Salford's degree is recognised by the Sri Lankan IQSSL, AIQS (Australia), and the Gulf RICS chapters. Graduates can register as Assistant Quantity Surveyors anywhere in the world, and the 2-year UK Graduate Route lets them sit the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) while working for a UK consultancy.
