Course Overview

POLIMI's BSc in Mechanical Engineering is the gateway degree into Italy's automotive and industrial machinery heartland. Three years, taught in English at the Milan Bovisa campus, covering classical mechanics, thermodynamics, machine design, materials science, and an early introduction to manufacturing and CAD/CAM systems. Sri Lankan applicants strong in Combined Maths and Physics at A/Ls fit this programme well.

POLIMI's deep industry network — Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pirelli, Fiat-Stellantis, Leonardo, and Pininfarina all recruit directly from the Bovisa workshops — is the standout asset. Tuition uses Italy's ISEE-based progressive system, so a Sri Lankan family with documented modest income often pays €900–€1,800/year. The natural progression is into POLIMI's own MSc in Mechanical Engineering, which is fully taught in English.
