Course Overview

Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) is one of Northern Europe's most established business schools — triple-accredited (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) and the alma mater of much of Sweden's corporate leadership across IKEA, Tetra Pak, Ericsson, and Skanska. Lund itself is a classic Swedish university town (the university dates to 1666) sitting 30 minutes by train from Copenhagen — putting students within commuting distance of two metropolitan economies. The BSc International Business is LUSEM's flagship English-medium undergraduate programme.

Sri Lankan A-Level / IB applicants — typically Commerce / Maths stream school-leavers and the children of Sri Lankan business families targeting international careers — choose Lund International Business for: triple accreditation at one of Europe's most established business schools, lower tuition than KTH / Chalmers business equivalents (LUSEM publishes ~SEK 145,000/year for non-EU students, LKR 4.64M/yr), the Lund / Copenhagen dual employer market (Tetra Pak HQ in Lund, IKEA HQ in Älmhult, Ericsson Lund, plus Carlsberg, Maersk, and Novo Nordisk just over the Øresund Bridge in Copenhagen), and Sweden's 12-month post-study residence permit. The 3-year (180 ECTS) curriculum covers economics, finance, marketing, management, accounting, international business strategy, cross-cultural management, statistics, plus a Bachelor's thesis. Sri Lankan returnees route into management trainee, finance, and audit roles at John Keells, MAS Holdings, Brandix, Hayleys, HSBC SL, Standard Chartered SL, Commercial Bank of Ceylon, and the Big Four Colombo.
