BSc Economics
University of Warwick
Course Overview
Warwick's Department of Economics is consistently ranked in the UK top 3 (alongside Oxford and LSE) and is the largest economics department in the country by faculty size. The three-year BSc is a quantitative, theory-led degree: maths and statistics from Year 1, core micro/macro and econometrics through Year 2, then optional specialisations in development, behavioural, monetary, or labour economics in the final year.
Strong fit for Sri Lankan A/Level Maths students aiming at the City of London, central banking, or graduate study at Oxbridge/LSE. Warwick economists routinely place into the Bank of England, Central Bank of Sri Lanka return tracks, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey and the Big Four. The optional 'with Industrial Placement' variant adds a paid year in industry between Years 2 and 3.
