BSc Data Science (English Track)

Hanyang University's Data Science programme in the College of Engineering is one of the university's English-track degrees: courses are conducted in English and international applicants do not need TOPIK (Korean) to start. Students build foundations in mathematics, statistics and programming before progressing into machine learning and data-driven problem solving, and the final major (Data Science or Cognitive Science) is decided on advancing to the third year, subject to capacity. Hanyang is ranked 155th in the QS World University Rankings 2027 and is widely known as Korea's leading engineering university, with deep ties to Samsung, Hyundai, LG and SK.

For Sri Lankan school leavers with strong Physical Science A/Ls (Combined Maths, Physics, Chemistry or ICT), or Cambridge/Edexcel A-Levels, the English track removes the usual barrier of learning Korean first. Engineering-field tuition at Hanyang is under KRW 7 million a semester, well below UK or Australian computing degrees, and merit scholarships of 50% to 100% are awarded at admission. After graduating, the D-10 job-seeker visa lets graduates look for work in Seoul's fast-growing AI, platform and semiconductor sector.
