The 4-year Honours BEng in Mechanical Engineering with Mechatronics specialisation combines core mechanical engineering (mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, design and manufacturing) with mechatronics electives (robotics, sensors and actuators, embedded systems, control engineering, machine vision, AI applications). Graduates are accredited by the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) under the Washington Accord — recognised globally.
Sri Lankan applicants — particularly Mathematics / Physics A-Level students aiming at robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing careers — choose NUS for the academic prestige, the proximity to Sri Lanka (3.5h flight), the SGD-pegged fees materially lower than UK / US, and Singapore's clearly defined Employment Pass post-study work pathway.
