Bachelor of Communication Studies
Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, NTU Singapore
Course Overview
NTU's Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information is ranked top 10 globally for Communication and Media Studies (QS by Subject) and is the only Asian communication school consistently in that bracket. The four-year Bachelor of Communication Studies offers six concentrations after Year 1: Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Broadcast and Cinema Studies, Communication Research, and Information Systems. Final year includes a 22-week professional internship — past placements include the Straits Times, Channel News Asia, Ogilvy Singapore, Edelman, Mediacorp, and Bloomberg APAC.
Sri Lankan applicants choose WKWSCI because Singapore is Southeast Asia's media capital — every major regional newsroom, ad agency, and corporate comms function is based there — and the SGD 38,000/year tuition is roughly half of comparable programmes in Australia or the UK. The Singapore Tuition Grant (MOE) can reduce tuition by up to 50% in exchange for a 3-year bond to work in a Singapore-registered company after graduation, which itself converts neatly into Employment Pass eligibility.
