Nottingham Developing Solutions Master's Scholarship
The Developing Solutions Master's Scholarship is the University of Nottingham's flagship award for students from developing countries — including Sri Lanka. It funds 50% or 100% of tuition for a one-year taught Master's at the University of Nottingham UK, across eligible programmes in the Faculties of Engineering, Science, Social Sciences, and Medicine & Health Sciences. Awards are competitive: around 105 are made each year from thousands of applicants worldwide.

Eligible Country National
You must be a national of one of the listed developing countries — Sri Lanka is included. You must also be classified as an overseas fee-paying student.
Offer for an Eligible Master's
You must hold an offer for a one-year full-time taught Master's in an eligible Nottingham UK programme. MBAs, joint degrees, and PhDs are excluded.
Strong Academic Record
Equivalent to a UK upper second-class honours or higher. Sri Lankan first-class honours graduates and very strong second-class upper graduates are usually competitive.
Plan to Return Home
The award is intended for students whose Master's will help drive development in their home country. The application form asks for a 300-word statement on how your studies will benefit Sri Lanka.

Submit your Nottingham postgraduate application via the university's online portal. Scholarship consideration requires an offer (conditional is fine) by the scholarship deadline.
Complete the scholarship form
Use the dedicated Developing Solutions form — submit a personal statement (300 words on impact in Sri Lanka), supporting evidence, and your offer details.
Selection panel decision
Faculty-led panels rank applicants on academic excellence, statement quality, and development impact. Outcomes are typically announced in June.
Accept and enrol
Awardees must accept the scholarship and confirm their place at Nottingham within the published deadline. Discount is applied directly to fees.
