Birmingham Dubai International Scholarship
The University of Birmingham Dubai awards an annual postgraduate scholarship of 25-30% off tuition fees to offer-holders for taught Master's programmes. The amount depends on your Bachelor's final classification: stronger classifications attract the higher tier. The award is applied to every year of study, not just year one, which materially reduces total fee outlay compared with one-off discounts. There is no separate application — every postgraduate offer-holder who pays their deposit by the deadline is auto-assessed.

Bachelor's Classification
Award tier is set by your final degree classification — a UK 2:1 (or Sri Lankan first-class / strong second-upper) targets the 25% band; a UK first or distinction-level result targets the 30% band.
Birmingham Dubai Offer-Holder
You must hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible postgraduate programme delivered at the Dubai campus. UK Edgbaston offers don't qualify for this scholarship.
Pay the Tuition Deposit
The AED 5,000 non-returnable tuition deposit must be paid by the published deadline (currently 30 June 2026 for September entry) to lock in the scholarship.
Open to All Internationals
Sri Lankan and other international applicants are equally eligible — there is no nationality quota. The 10% UAE-resident booster is separate and additional for students already in the Emirates.
account_tree Application Process
Apply to a Birmingham Dubai PG course
Submit your application via the Birmingham Dubai online portal — transcripts, two references, personal statement, and IELTS 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0) for most programmes.
Receive a conditional offer
Once your academic file is reviewed, admissions will issue a conditional offer letter that states your indicative scholarship tier alongside the tuition figure.
Pay the AED 5,000 deposit
Pay the non-returnable tuition deposit by 30 June 2026 (September intake). Late deposits push you below the scholarship threshold even if you are otherwise eligible.
Confirm final grades
Submit your final Bachelor's transcript — if it shifts your classification, the scholarship tier is adjusted up or down on the final fee invoice.
