Course Overview
ETH Zurich's MSc in Health Sciences and Technology (HST) sits at the intersection of biology, engineering, and clinical medicine — designed for Sri Lankan applicants from engineering, biomedical, pharmacy, or biotech backgrounds who want to build the next generation of medical devices, diagnostics, and therapies. Specialisation tracks include Human Movement Sciences and Sport, Medical Technology, Molecular Health Sciences, and Neurosciences.
The curriculum combines coursework, lab rotations, and an industry-linked Master's thesis. ETH HST graduates feed into Roche, Novartis, Sonova, Straumann, and the Zurich med-tech start-up scene. Tuition is CHF 730 per semester, but Zurich is one of Europe's most expensive cities — budget honestly for living costs.
Entry Requirements
Academic

Career Outcomes & PR
ETH HST graduates place into Swiss pharma and med-tech — Roche, Novartis, Sonova, Straumann, Lonza — plus the Zurich biotech start-up corridor. Non-EU graduates have 6 months after the degree to find a Swiss employer, after which the EU Blue Card route opens. PhD continuation at ETH, EPFL, or partner medical schools is also a common path.
