LLM (Master of Laws)
Seoul National University (School of Law)
Course Overview
The LLM at SNU School of Law is a two-year research-track Master of Laws based at Korea's most influential law faculty — the training ground for most of the country's judges, prosecutors and senior government counsel. The program offers specialisations including International Law, Corporate & Commercial Law, Intellectual Property, Tax Law, and East Asian Legal Studies, with a thesis component in the second year.
For Sri Lankan lawyers, SNU LLM is a strong entry point into Korean firms' international practice groups (Kim & Chang, Lee & Ko, Shin & Kim) and into cross-border commercial work spanning Korea's Sri Lankan investments — Hyundai, Samsung, and the textile/electronics supply chains. The D-2 student visa converts to a D-10 job-seeker visa post-graduation; foreign attorneys can practise as Foreign Legal Consultants under Korea's FLC regime.
