BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult)
Coventry University
Course Overview
Coventry's BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) is an NMC-approved, three-year programme built around a 50/50 split between academic study and clinical placements in NHS Trusts across the West Midlands (University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, George Eliot Hospital, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals). On graduation students are eligible to register with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) — the gateway to working as a Registered Nurse anywhere in the UK or, with conversion, in Australia, Canada and the Gulf.
This is one of the most popular UK degrees among Sri Lankan applicants right now: NHS demand for nurses is acute, the Health and Care Worker visa route lets graduates settle long-term with a clear path to ILR, and Coventry has run dedicated South-Asian student support since the early 2000s. Most Sri Lankan applicants come in via a Health Science Foundation Year (offered on the same campus) if their A/L stream wasn't bioscience-heavy.

Career Outcomes & PR
Graduates qualify for the Health and Care Worker visa (a sponsored variant of the Skilled Worker route) — every major NHS Trust sponsors newly-qualified nurses, with a Band 5 starting salary of £29,970/yr rising to £36,483 within 8 years. Five years on the Health and Care Worker visa leads to Indefinite Leave to Remain. The 2-year Graduate Route is also available as an alternative for those exploring private-sector roles.
