Course Overview

Bocconi's BSc in International Economics and Finance (BIEF) is a three-year English-taught degree in Milan, built for students who want a quantitative grounding in economics with a clear finance and capital-markets bent. Sri Lankan A/Ls students who are strong in mathematics and want to skip the UK route increasingly choose Bocconi for its tuition (around a third of comparable UK programs) and direct EU access.

The curriculum covers microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, corporate finance and financial markets, with electives in fintech, asset pricing and emerging-market economics. Students typically spend a semester on exchange — Wharton, LSE, HKUST and NUS are all partner schools — and complete a summer internship before graduation.
