Teagasc Walsh Scholarship

The Teagasc Walsh Scholarship is Ireland's flagship funded research programme in agriculture, food, animal and environmental science, run by Teagasc — the state agriculture and food development authority — in partnership with Irish universities such as UCD, University of Galway, UCC, TU Dublin and others. Each scholarship funds a specific advertised research Master's or PhD project, providing an annual stipend of around EUR 24,000 (LKR 8.28m+) plus a contribution toward university fees, with the research based at a Teagasc research centre under joint Teagasc–university supervision. For Sri Lankan graduates in agriculture, food science, animal science, agri-economics, biotechnology or environmental science — fields highly relevant to Sri Lanka's agricultural economy — the Walsh Scholarship is a genuine fully funded research route. You apply to a named project, not an open scheme. Exact stipend, fee contribution and closing dates vary by project, so check current vacancies on the Teagasc website.
